Licenses & registration

Three state credentials, one record you can check

Larch HVAC & Appliance holds electrical contractor licensing in two specialties, 06A and 07D, plus a construction contractor registration, all issued by Washington State L&I and valid statewide. Below is what each one covers and how to look them up yourself.

The three credentials on file with L&I

Each license is a public state record. Open a card to see it, or check the numbers yourself on L&I Verify.

06A HVAC/Refrigeration

Electrical Contractor — (06A) HVAC/Refrigeration

No. LARCHHA742PL

  • Valid through Oct 26, 2028
  • Name on the L&I record: LARCH HVAC & APPLIANCE

Our electrical contractor license in the (06A) HVAC/refrigeration specialty covers the electrical side of furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, ductless systems and commercial coolers. Under it we replace motors, control boards and heat strips, run thermostat wiring and connect the short supply whip on a new unit. What 06A covers.

07D Appliance Repair

Electrical Contractor — (07D) Appliance Repair

No. LARCHHA742PL

  • Valid through Oct 26, 2028
  • Name on the L&I record: LARCH HVAC & APPLIANCE

The (07D) appliance repair specialty is the electrical license for kitchen and laundry machines: refrigerators, ranges, ovens, dishwashers, washers and dryers. It lets us repair them, change the electrical components inside, and swap a unit like for like on its existing circuit, within a 250-volt, 60-amp, single-phase limit. Read the details.

General Contractor

Construction Contractor — General

No. LARCHHA745PW

  • Valid through Oct 16, 2028
  • Name on the L&I record: LARCH HVAC & APPLIANCE

Our construction contractor registration in the General specialty is what most people call a general contractor license. State law ties it to a surety bond and liability insurance, and it fits installs where several trades meet on one job, such as a furnace replacement that also changes ductwork. How the registration works.

Verify on L&IWhat it covers

Google Verified on Local Services Ads

Our Local Services Ads profile on Google carries the Google Verified badge, the single badge Google now shows for advertisers that pass its screening. For HVAC businesses that screening lists background checks, proof of insurance and state license checks where a license is required. It is Google's own review, separate from L&I, and not a refund program.

How to look us up on L&I Verify, step by step

The same steps work for any contractor you are thinking of hiring.

  1. Open L&I's Verify tool.
  2. Pick a search type: Name, Contractor/tradesperson license, or WA UBI No. For us, the UBI 605283205 brings up every record at once.
  3. Open each result. Records filed since our 2026 name change read LARCH HVAC & APPLIANCE; earlier ones keep the former name, ADAM&SAM BROTHERS REPAIR. Same company, same owners.
  4. Read the License specialties line and the effective and expiration dates, then scroll down to Bond, Insurance, and Lawsuits against the bond or savings.
  5. Finish with License Violations and Workers' Comp, which shows whether employees sent to your home are covered.

L&I warns that parts of its database can be out of date, so if a line looks wrong, ask the contractor about it, or ask L&I.

Why an electrical specialty matters for heating and appliance work

Furnaces, heat pumps and most kitchen and laundry machines are electrical equipment. L&I's homeowner guidance draws the line plainly: anyone may install or replace a plug-in appliance, but a hard-wired one calls for a licensed electrical contractor using electricians who hold state certificates. Every electrical contractor also needs an assigned electrical administrator or master electrician, and an administrator in a specialty can only be assigned to a contractor holding that same specialty.

The 07D appliance scope expressly leaves out furnaces, heaters, air conditioners and heat pumps, which is why heating and cooling calls fall under 06A. Whoever performs electrical work is responsible for the permit, and two companies may never work under one permit. New circuits, panels and outside disconnects belong to a general (01) electrical contractor and sit outside both of our specialties.

What the bond and insurance behind our registration mean for you

Every registered construction contractor must keep a continuous surety bond and liability insurance in force. Since July 1, 2024 the bond is $30,000 for a general contractor and $15,000 for a specialty contractor. Insurance must be at least $200,000 public liability and $50,000 property damage, or a $250,000 combined single limit.

The bond is not a fund you apply to. A homeowner collects by suing the contractor and the bond in Superior Court in the county where the work was done, generally within two years of the work being substantially completed or abandoned, and winning a judgment. Claimants other than residential homeowners can draw no more than half of the bond in total. The general contractor page has the steps.

Licensing and permit guides

Common questions

Is a general contractor registration the same as a license?

Not quite. Washington registers construction contractors rather than testing them; L&I's own hiring guide notes that contractors are not required to pass a skills exam, while electricians and plumbers are tested and licensed. Registration shows a bond, insurance and a state record. Our electrical work rests on our electrical contractor licensing in the 06A and 07D specialties, and each specialty requires an assigned administrator who holds it.

Are your licenses good outside the north Seattle area?

Yes. L&I licenses and registrations are statewide, so the same three credentials cover our work from Seattle to Everett and Kirkland and our jobs in Spokane. Local permit offices still differ: Seattle, Everett, Lynnwood, Kirkland, Mountlake Terrace and Spokane issue their own electrical permits and inspections, while L&I handles them in places like Bothell, Shoreline and Edmonds.

Who gets the electrical permit when you install equipment?

We do, for the electrical work we perform, because state rules put the permit on whoever does the work. L&I's homeowner guidance says that when you hire a contractor, the contractor must buy the permit. If the job also needs a new circuit from a general (01) electrical contractor, that company buys its own permit, since two companies cannot share one.

Can you add a new circuit or a disconnect for my equipment?

Not under these licenses. Branch circuits, feeders, panels and disconnect switches outside the equipment fall outside both 06A and 07D. When a heat pump, mini-split or new range needs a new circuit, a general (01) electrical contractor handles that part and it is quoted separately. We tell you at the site visit or diagnostic whether the existing circuit will serve.

Is Google Verified the same as being licensed?

No. Google Verified is Google's mark on Local Services Ads profiles that finished its screening. Licenses and registrations come from L&I, and only L&I's Verify tool shows their current status, bond, insurance and violations. We hold both, but if you only have time to check one thing about any contractor, make it the L&I record.
